If ever there was a place to hire a car...
Some people just hate the idea of driving whilst away, and the public transport in Vegas is fine. But even if you're only staying a couple of days, the capitalist nature of Vegas makes hiring a car just as competitive, if not cheaper, than a few Taxis.
Cheap
Vegas is one of the cheapest places to hire a car in the USA. It looks big, but it is easy to drive and park, and even easier to leave the city on one of the many highways and travel further.
Ease
ALL the airport car hire companies are in one building, you just jump on a short shuttle bus there. It makes it easy on pick-up and drop-off, and you need to factor in about 10 minutes for the whole process.
Free Parking
Every hotel in Vegas USED to have free parking. Recently the strip hotels have begun charging for valet parking, but you can still self-park, just follow the VALET sign for ease or the sign for Self Park for cheaper with a longer walk from the car.

Make sure you get the full insurance package, then just say NO to any upgrades on pick up.
TRUSTED TIP: Get a free sat nav app on your phone, you'll get around Vegas just fine. Try for yourself, put a random week in below, or just book your week, and see how cheap it could be. (Think in terms of 20 dollars per taxi).
